For my Gran (who sadly passed away 4/5/2016

Dear Gran

For you I write this

To say the things I should have

Before I gave you a final kiss

Although we weren't close

And not much of you did I see

When the important times came round

I know you always thought of me

Every easter, Christmas and birthday

At least a card from you I'd get

I guess I always thought

'There's plenty time yet'

I want to let you know

I appreciated it all

Everytime I'd hear from you

I'd stand 10 feet tall

I always wanted to thank you

Remember that call I made from town

Out of the blue I asked to stay

And you never turned me down

With a full house, you took me in

You never turned your back on me

I've never forgotten you did that

I just wish I could've let you see

Where ever you are just now

Please read this and know

Although I never told you

I really did love you so.
