For the crime of sodomy

As God is my witness
That I cannot be 
I shall confess 
The sinner in thee 
He taketh life 
Bringeth the breath
A mother and a wife 
Unto this death
She was murdered inside the river 
Floating in the dirt one day 
These bones brought hither 
To the alter to the Lord, I pray 
By the people of the book 
From Genesis to Deuteronomy 
This life that He took
