FORBIDDEN LOVE

I must at all cost stay away
Weather it be night or day
I must put our love on hold.
The rumble and racket it caused
Forced me to pause
In the midst of celebrating
Our freedom to love.
At first, age was a factor
You being so young
And My love like vintage wine
Uplifted from its dusty shelves
I delicately poured into your heart.
Without hesitation our hearts cheered
You took my breath away with your smile
Suffocating me with your sensuous love
And butterfly kisses.
A religious war ensued
You were deemed an outcast
Testing our love's flexibility and strength.
But together we overcame the stagnant waters of hate.
Now your life is placed in a balance
By the enemies of romance
So before all is lost
For the sake of loving you
I will stay away at all cost.
