Forest of Darkness

Forest of Darkness

In the darkness where I had been,
A forest of trees to cover my sins,
There was a door of hope awaiting,
But fear kept me debating.

It told me if I would take that step,
Disappointment would lead to regret,
Then making me sorry I had left,
A place in the dark I knew the best.

But still yet I would long to leave,
Wishing I had the courage to achieve,
If but to muster enough faith to use,
Making my escape from what bruised.

After considering all my choices,
It was time to shut out the old voices,
Entering into a world of bright lights,
The promise of a new day in my life.
