forever long fire

~~Oh this smile suddenly seen in your eyes.

Is this a preamble to an all too familiar fire and water again?

Or this the start of the wind flaming the smoldering remains.

Whatever it is its making my heart beat a thousand drum beats.

 But the beats head caution of a possible bridge burning down to mere ashes.

Water in hand to stop any fire of sudden frenzy that happens too soon.

Gasoline in hand only to engulf the flames of passion not lust.

I stand patiently on the side with heated embers for the gust to come at the right moment.

Fanning the flames and making each one fonder of each other, producing the heat to fuel the ardor.

Then hopefully as the wind dies down we shall relax and watch the receding inferno becoming a slow steady burn.
