Forgotten Graveyard.

Like decaying stumps in a fetid mouth
They protrude in grotesque fashion
Embraced by gnarled fingers, green and spindly
That grow in confusion, their roots born in hell
Oh this place incites such passion
Death and decay cast an awful spell.
Weathered by centuries,inscriptions fading
Rest in peace but a mockery now
Old vaults splayed open, broken and brooding
Guarded by gargoyles to hideous to bear
Faces all twisted with evil and loathing
Daring me close with malevolent glare.
A distant black crow, bloated and evil
Squawks to its maker in satanic glee
While all around me trees stand watching
Twisted and bent, as souls racked in grief
Sentries from hell, they encircle this place
Forever to protect the horrors beneath.
