Forgotten Trail

He runs through the thick & ancient forest,
With nothing left but dignity & pride.
Once a warrior of the great camanche nation,
Now left hollow from white mans lies.
His heart races like a rabbit running from wolves,
Sweat pours like rain down his saddened face.
Gun shots echo through the forest like thunder ,
as ruthless soldiers pursue with relentless chase.
memories of his village being tortured & burned,
with women & children amongst the dead.
he survives purely by heart & determination,
Accompanied with promises the white men said.
Only one of thousands left to survive,
after signing a treaty of backstabbing betrayal.
With his tribe left as spirits of nature,
Now alone he runs on the Forgotten Trail

Wrote this one from my heart with the division in mine of today in America. We forget that Native Americans perhaps suffered more than any other ethnic group in our country's history. Hoping that one day we can put the past behind us and become one under the flag of the United States of America!!! We need to focus on poverty , the homeless , starvation and our environment!!!
