Forty Years

Forty Years

It was only forty years ago,
That I said, "I do."
Forty years,
Since I married you.

Sometimes it wasn't easy,
We had God on our side,
He lets us know,
There's no reason to hide.

Forty years of trials and tribulations,
With you by my side,
Forty years of thanking God,
That we're both still alive.

I'd do it all again,
These forty years of love,
Because this marriage,
Is a blessing from God above.
