Forty Years
It was only forty years ago,
That I said, "I do."
Forty years,
Since I married you.
Sometimes it wasn't easy,
We had God on our side,
He lets us know,
There's no reason to hide.
Forty years of trials and tribulations,
With you by my side,
Forty years of thanking God,
That we're both still alive.
I'd do it all again,
These forty years of love,
Because this marriage,
Is a blessing from God above.

Hello dear,
you might have an experience, by seeing an ideal couple before you , I'm not sure, that tends you to compose such a beautiful poem. the last part is important and a message to the modern society ,about the virtue of marriage ,it's divine . well done. is the couple your parents? ..........
No, it was written for my pastor and his wife on their 40th wedding anniversary, 6-23-13. I wrote it during Sunday School when she mentioned it was their anniversary.
