Fought on the page.

With a double edged dagger I lunge and I stab, your total and focused attention to grab,
When the means to the ending's your greatest reward, and the knowledge the pen's mightier than the sword,
As I look on the carnage I left in my wake, I pray that this battle don't cause me to break,
So I pray to the Lord and I truly implore, that this fight be my last I've no strength to fight more,
So I ask for the wisdom God grants to some men, that I may learn and now how war's won with the pen,
Β Then a wise man came to me explained so I knew, that yes swords they'd won wars but much blood was spilled too,
Is it not with a sword that you take a king's, crown? And when enemies rise does sword not take them down?
But the warrior with wisdom from the dawn of the age, was the one who sought victory in war on the page.

Power in the words and carnage...oooh. Very well versed short piece. Brilliantly to read. ??
This poem was inspired by watching Damien, the remake of The Omen, and took me minutes to create, one of my favourite of my work to date.
