Poem -

Four words

I watch as life surrenders.
Holding on through an unbearable pain.
As I see you struggling to remember.
The joys that you once gained.

Holding my hand in your final hour.
Smiling as tears roll down your face.
God please give me strength and power.
To be her remaining grace in this awful place.

With tears falling from my eyes.
I smile back thanking you for surrounding me.
Squeezing your hand as my earthly angel flies.
Broken hearted I hit my knees.

When I feel you enter my heart.
And the peace you now know.
I recall how we got our start.
And how much you allowed me to grow.

You dipped down with angelic wings.
And placed a holo over my days.
Gracing me with wondrous things.
Realizing my dreams in four words you say.

Dad I love you in my weakest moment.
Now give me strengths I've never known.
As I became your living atonement.
For years after you,my daughter, are gone.

This is my promise to you now.
Ellouise, my life till it's end.
Will always, somehow.
Reflect the grace you did so willingly lend.

Such a truly benevolent soul.
That graced everyone you touch.
Allowing the world to grow.
Centuries would not be enough.

To repay an ounce of the grace you shared.
To me,once a stranger.
Showing how much you cared.
I LOVE YOU DAD still releases me from any danger.

To my daughter flying through the stars.
I miss you,I love you Ellouise.
No time nor distance will ever be to far.
Come grace me with another hug please.
