Fray

The water ain't free no more
The rivers been taken away
And the logging is done for now
For the trees no longer sway
The hell you put me through
It's like the earth been taken away
And the logging is done for now
For the trees no longer sway
They say that love is blind
Baby the bats can see the way
And the logging is done for now
For the trees no longer sway
So you went to the other side
Hey it's cool to have your say
And the logging is done for now
For the trees no longer sway
It was the 25th December 1965
I remember the date and day
And the logging is done for now
For the trees no longer sway
There's no sleep anymore, no
No rest or peace, just fray
And the logging is done for now
For the trees no longer sway

Lots of strong feelings here. I read this as someone that has lost a love and misses them. Yet the relationship was strained when it was still a relationship. Love is blind as a bat, but the bat isn't blind it just can't see. The love is gone and there is unrest left in the house. A sad story, but told pretty well. I was not fond of the repeated lines in every stanza, but overall a good job, Anthony
Thank you Anthony for your insightful
comments; It's a serious love poem
with all the bells and sagas,
i agree the repetition is tiresome
I do this at times to help the reader
suffer the poem's meaning
And emphasise
thanx for coming by Jai
I'll check out your poetry soon!
