Free on our screens

We shield ourselves in publicÂ
We as a society are built of helpless insecurities
But we do not care, we are free on our screens
Depending on likes and commentsÂ
To make us feel lovedÂ
Depending on friends and followers
To make us feel wantedÂ
They cease to exist in reality,
But we do not care, because we are free on our screensÂ
Freedom that humans have failed to obtain from century to centuryÂ
Helplessly blinded by fear of exposer
Helplessly blinded by the want of belonging
But we do not to care, because we are free on our screens
Bandaged and hidden from the truth of livingÂ
The truth of about communication and societyÂ
We are all the same, however made so differentÂ
But we do not care, because we are free on our screens
We are shunned by the media.Â
A cause for this strange behaviour?
We are expected to live up to the expectation of our digital superiors
Inferiors to the face of self esteem
But we do not care, we are free on our screens.Â
