Free on our screens

We shield ourselves in public
We as a society are built of helpless insecurities
But we do not care, we are free on our screens
Depending on likes and comments
To make us feel loved
Depending on friends and followers
To make us feel wanted
They cease to exist in reality,
But we do not care, because we are free on our screens
Freedom that humans have failed to obtain from century to century
Helplessly blinded by fear of exposer
Helplessly blinded by the want of belonging
But we do not to care, because we are free on our screens
Bandaged and hidden from the truth of living
The truth of about communication and society
We are all the same, however made so different
But we do not care, because we are free on our screens
We are shunned by the media.
A cause for this strange behaviour?
We are expected to live up to the expectation of our digital superiors
Inferiors to the face of self esteem
But we do not care, we are free on our screens.
