Free Spirits

We learn from the hardest Truths.
Great ones among us,
know this, in their very bones.
From dark clouds that drift
in tenebrous skies, emerge
prophets of lightning.
In time, they'll denounce idols
of all kinds and preach
Love, Mercy and Compassion.
They know the icy
depths of profound despair,
yet with iron-like
will these bold knights of faith
keep moving forward
despite all the obstacles
that they're prone to
encounter throughout their lives.
Like alchemists, they
can transform the basest things
into precious forms.
They scatter their golden worlds
in advance of their
deeds, and always do more than
they promise. Although
they perceive the horrors of
the abyss within
their souls, and others, they still
sacrifice themselves
for the greater good. Through their
noble ways, the world
is constantly beautified
and redeemed. O they're
the most free spirits of all!
