Friends
Dedicated to Greg Etsell
Friends are like the morning dew,
Which greets the rising sun.
But when they see it going down,
They leave us one by one.
When good fortune smiles on us,
And claims us for its own.
How many loving friends we find,
Their conscience to be known.
But should misfortune cross our path,
And sorrows dim our eye.
How soon those friends forget us,
How quick they pass us by.
So be careful with your friendship,
Select a chosen few.
May they be rich in wisdom,
May they be great and true.
And whatever God you believe in,
He's the Greatest friend of all.
Live a long life filled with virtue,
Be kind, help others, walk tall.

He more than deserves this for he can make me feel ten feet tall with his comments and it warms the cockles of every poets heart knowing that someone cares after reading a member's poem and has enjoyed it.
