Friendship Cake

We prepared the kitchen,

Cleaned all the tools.

Danced around to music, 

and laughed coz we looked like fools.

She handed me eggs, sugar, flour,

and I stirred it all in,

but the mixture tastes sour.

I had a suspicion, but I didn't let it rise.

I turned to see her switching the eggs,

to my surprise.

She smiled falsely, and playfully gave me a smack.

"did you put in the wrong eggs?" 

She mocked "stupid slag!"

I rubbed my sore arm and chuckled along too,

As I thought to myself,

Could what she say be true?

Was I stupid and careless?

Had I used the wrong eggs?

No longer original... it's becoming bootleg.

But as I started to think,

I turned again to see her changing the mixture, and giggling with glee,

"what's that?" I asked, taking a seat.

"oh, nothing" she answered, though the bottle read "deciet".

I thought nothing of it, so we prepared the oven for the cake.

"Just a little something more," she added,

I read the packet, and the packet said "hate".

I started to question- she wasn't being very friendly,

While I saw her add another bottle, 

This one read "envy".

I sat back and watched her open the oven.

"There!" she said, and pressed the button.

After 20 minutes of waiting we sat down to eat.

It looked very yummy, though it was filled with deciet.

"Eat up" she ordered, and I picked up the knife.

"No thanks," I said, "I've eaten tonight."

I cut through the layers and said with a grin,

"You can't bake a friendship cake with lots of lies in."

Her face went pale white, and her jaw dropped to the floor,

"I don't like nasty friends." and slammed shut the door.
