From Giggles To Guns (Epic)

From Giggles To Guns (Epic)

FROM GIGGLES TO GUNS
Once giggles were his words of choice,
and joy was just his fantasies.
Soon angry words deranged his voice,
with misanthropic tendencies.

The days of toys and little boys
had faded as time fell fast away.
Men’s toys took place of his joys
and held his heart so far at bay.

Seeing a father, who's in a gang,
Believing his friends are honest men.
While mother's love has felt the pang
from all the wrongs, which gangs befriend.

His puzzled world is upside down,
a mixed up labyrinthine maze.
He holds onto unstable ground,
where laws prohibit how he plays.

From gangster to Dillinger drone,
who, also sees behind his head,
and needs it, for he's all alone,
and living life, as a walking dead.

At sixteen, he's barely alive
and selling dope just to get by.
From day to day he'll just survive
at naming those, that need to die.

As all around there's jealousy
of those who want more than their share.
There soon will come an enemy,
who carries out most any dare.

His childhood memories have waned,
he's chosen manhood over fun.
He lives a life where nothing's gained,
silencing giggles with a gun.

Most of his friends are gone in years.
Their bond to gangs is their demise.
His life alone is what he fears,
for having children now’s not wise.

He’ll never marry, never again,
as sex, rock and roll drown his fate.
Soon this disease will never mend,
while love and joy, have replaced hate.

He finds his friends, that he can trust,
but even then, they're not to hug.
For heirs to his throne, think he's dust,
chance would sweep him under a rug.

Soon all alone, his inside’s burn,
forgiveness doesn't come with ease.
For who could, if they’d ever learned,
forgiving his atrocities.

His conscience withered, he tries to think
of all those times he killed someone.
A tear finds its way from his blink,
and falls upon his loaded gun.

He sits in front of silken drapes,
brushing the side of his face.
Recalling his killings and rapes,
and lifts the gun up in disgrace.

His nearest friend stands by his side,
as life ebbs and turns to ice.
He looks down as if to confide,
but now, truths wouldn’t be as nice.

Another, soon, will take the lead,
and learn to turn away his head
as giggles fade with every bleed,
and tears forget how they were shed.

Hello Alexis...

I have stopped asking parents what are they doing?

Truthfully, they're only doing what they feel is right...

I walked away from a lot of people who wasn't good to expose my kids...

There's many I wouldn't introduce my Granddaughter to if given the opportunity...

I don't knock because, they may answer...

I know she'll meet people when she gets older and hopefully, she'll remember what I tell her to avoid at all costs...

The ones I didn't think would harm my kids had my Son fighting for his life daily...

We know them as Doctors who prescribed a very addicting pain medication...

There was nothing I could do...

Now, my blessing comes from the calls from jail...

I know he's alive...

Rehabs didn't work...

When he's on the street, I pray hard...

Then I smile when the police say they got him and he's still alive...

But, I know the reality of the last time, I get that...

He's getting back out soon...

I have prayed for the right Preacher that could help me save him but, a drug dealer has it going on...

Very few people have known about this but, it's time I tell it...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Cheers, Sparrowsong;
My thoughts are sincerely aroused and humbly felt for your melancholy situation, that has left you awry and puzzled.
I almost lost everything due to John Barleycorn(drink), if not for my love, for my wife, that is so stronger than my willingness to destroy it by using, or being used by anything or anyone.  So Far, it has lasted 7 years clean and full of pure and holy joy. I was fortunate,
I'll pray for your granddaughter and add her to my meditational period list.
Take care and thank you for reading and sharing your welcoming thoughts

Cheers Sparrowsong;
-I'll remember Sean and Skyla, and place them in "My Lord please bless their guidance with honesty, their dreams with hope, and their days with You My Lord
by their side."
Take care and have a good one, Sparrowsong.
