FROM NOTHINGNESS

It's not like being awaken out of sleep
Because there is no remembrance
Of going to sleep
Before now, this instant
There were nothing, no memory, no existence
Because I never exited
But here I am, wide awake, alive
Having five senses, each one
A big surprise to me
And yours is the first face I see
As I am introduced to my new surroundings
You never said a word,
You never called me by name
I was as my environment until now, nameless
But you were there
Looking with a keen interest
At my every twist and turn
Somewhat amazed by the direction I take
And entertained by the function of my brain
Here I am, in a world of created difference
Knowledge lesson number three
After seeing your face, and exploring me
I opened my mouth, and found out, that I can speak
So I began to call that which I saw by name
So as to retain their differences
And make it easy to distinguish between the two
But there were none like me, and none like you
And you never said a word, not one word.
