From The Ashes Came The Angels

Inspired by the powerful poem “The Grenfell Tower Fire” by Deborah Evans
.
Saving some pennies has cost many lives,
Mothers and Children, Husbands and Wives;
Innocent victims of contractors greed,
housed in a death trap with no warnings’ heed!
.
A Towering Inferno created by men,
Using illegal materials, so less money they’d spend;
With no chance for survival some leapt to their death,
As horrified people, watched and they wept!
.
The ones that were lucky and barely survived,
Lost all that they had, the sum of their lives;
But Good Samaritans came, to help these folks out,
“Whatever you need”, the words did they shout!
.
So now that the smoke has finally cleared,
It’s time for criminal charges, these men’s way to be steered;
As for God’s Blessed Children, all lost on that day,
You will find them in Heaven, where forever they’ll stay!
.
Angels have risen
From Ashes of Tragedy
To God’s Paradise
.
As I created this poem, I listened to the beautiful song
“Angel Wings” by Herb Ernst

It's very sad...I wept when I saw it on TV....People dying because of someone's greed...Wonder where this world is going to...I'm glad Debs write inpired this...hers too is as beautiful as this
Love you
My Dear Sweet Rose,
It is hard to believe that unscrupulous contractors can get away with using substandard materials, thus putting peoples lives at risk, just in order for monetary gain. I don't know where "this world is going", but I hope these monsters will be going to prison for a very long time. Deb and I both share the gratitude for your most lovely words.
Love you too,

great poem LARRY it a sad thing at whats going on in England and the world sometime you think will it ever end or could it get wose lets hope not great poem
Dear Greg,
Our world is in chaos. If it's not terrorists, it is other monstrous human beings, who right now, are reigning terror on London and Paris. As to whether it could get worse, there is only One who can give you that answer, and if you pray to Him, you might be happy with His response.
Peace and Love,

Hello Larry...
Isn't it the fault of the owner?
They're the ones who would use such as an investment and for profit...I
They set the standards...
There is not much material that won't collapse or burn...
Should everyone live in steel?
When you live in a building with lots of different units each housing people and if someone 's careless everyone is effected...
Builders are paid to do the ordering of the material and it's their job to follow the specs of the boss...
It's said and tragic and what about all the other places that have in some way or the other cause the demise of entire families?
The people who were recently killed by changing out a water heater and the house blew up due to faulty gas lines that the county was responsible for and were unaware...
Is it the homeowners fault that the water heater broke?
Everyone always has to blame someone when something happens and no one says that's an accident waiting to happen...
Great inspired write!
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs, Peace and Love

My Dear Sweet Sparrowsong,
When it comes to your question about the owner of the property being responsible, I can answer from experience. My Father with two real estate partners, put up some buildings on land that they owned. Their first step was to hire an architect that designed them, and after approving the plans, finding a builder to construct them. They had no idea of the materials that would be used, depending on the builder and his contractors to make sure the specs were followed. Of course, plans had to be approved by building inspectors. So, from my experience, I can honestly say that the owners are oft times at the mercy of the builders.
Thank you for your keen interest and thoughtful comments.

My Dear Lorna,
Thank you for this beautiful poignant double Haiku, so full of insight. You have also honored these poor souls who lost their lives, so that greedy hedonists could lavish on their own.

My Dear Debs,
When I think about those poor innocent souls, whose, like you say, deaths could have been avoided, it brings anger to my mind and tears to my heart. The only consolation is that they are all now in a far better place. Thank you for your beautiful response.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
