Poem -

FROM WHENCE I CAME

SO SHORT A STAY
A FEW YEARS AND A DAY,
OF LIFE I LIVED,
PURPOSE,
TO LEARN TO FORGIVE.

SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES CAME MY WAY
LIKE THE MORNING SUNRISE
THEY TAUNT ME EVERY DAY,
BUT HOW MISERABLY I FAILED
LEARNING TO FORGIVE.

SO TO THE SOIL I RETURN
TO REINCARNATE AS A WORM
FOR SINCE I DID NOT LEARN HOW TO FORGIVE
THE LIFE OF A HUMAN,
I CAN NO LONGER LIVE.

WILFORD BARKER.

Aw...I think you're dealing the worms a bad hand here...without them there would be no soil ...sometimes I think I'd rather be anything but human ...deep write Wilford x

Hey Sir BARKER!!....this is one of my Fav's from you.....perfect poetic rhythm and timing....but.....for me.....it's the VERY well delivered intent behind it that makes it touch me as a reader.....I think everyone can relate to the 'missed opportunities' and 'regrets' that a person has when reflecting upon their life....mostly because there are so many twists, turns, and unexpected circumstances in a person's life.....choices are everything!!.....I believe you haven't missed too much my friend or you would not be delivering such powerful and thought provoking wordplay here!!......However.....that closing line is a little disconcerting.....Hope all is well dear poet brother!!.....ALL STARS!! & PINNED!!......wonderfully well penned!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.....T xo  : )

Sir Tony. I am indeed happy to hear from you my friend. And on the day that I am reflecting on what would have been my mother's 93rd birthday. She has left us 10 years ago. I often wondered how you and your family were doing.
i did not try to impose by asking questions, knowing that we all have to take a break from this platform now and then.
‘welcome back my friend. Happy New Year, good health, God’s blessings and best of wishes to you and family.
