Poem -

FROZEN HEART

Who knew
That the winds of change
Would blow us apart
That we would scatter
Like dandelion spores
Miles and miles apart

Who knew
That the tornado we sparked
Would rip out our hearts
That as death ends life
It is love that cuts
With a sharper knife

Who knew
That when the blizzard blew in
We would bury ourselves
With relief
Deep freeze our love
Forever
Beneath

Who knew
That when the tears were cried
We had not drowned
We had not died
We did not die
We survived

And who knew
That in setting me free
You bestowed
Your highest love
On me
And I thank you

With all my frozen heart.
