FtM

The jokes and laughter ring in her ears.
Everyone talks, but no one hears
the words she's saying -
they think she's playing.
"Get out of the men's section"
It's not an infection,
but it feels as such.
She hates her body so much.
Every glance in the mirror
it's her biggest fear -
feeling so frail,
trapped in that jail.
Imprisoned in her own skin.
Will she be forgiven
of such an obscure sin?
But it's not a problem.
Acceptance will come.
But will her family disown?
Forced to live on her own
in that skin simply sewn
with the wrong hormone.
Regardless, she can't live like this -
being referred to as "miss".
It's time to open up -
to finally interrupt
and say "this isn't who I am -
I am a man."
And so he evolves,
destiny calls
to make things right
despite the ugly fight.
He is who he's meant to be,
and I'm proud that he loves me.
