Poem -

Genie of the Lakes

The fisherman found me in the lakes

Inside my lamp I’d dwelled

The fisherman freed me

I granted him a wish as he asked,

Gave him endless supplies of food

For which the sultan would reward him

The sultan who first trapped me in this lamp

I used my powers to take the sultan’s form

I used my powers to send the sultan far away

I now impersonate the sultan and prosper as him

I watch over the fisherman who saved me

From my throne I ensure he prospers too
