George Washington

George Washington

We’ve just watched an amazing production, on The Channel History;
A three-part mini-series, as informative as could be!
It illustrates the life of George Washington, our Founding Father great;
And his pre-destined appointment with history, to decide our Country’s fate!
.
It starts when he’s a young man, only twenty-three years old;
In charge of the Virginia militia, French and Indian War to unfold!
One learns of all his pitfalls, the mistakes he surely made;
But eventually, he corrected them, and plans for his leadership were laid!
.
He realized the British were supercilious, thought the Colonists their underlings;
And Taxation Without Representation, a rebellion soon would bring!
So he led The Revolution, to rid us from their tyranny;
Eventually he defeated them, and made our Country free!
.
Years later, we wrote The Constitution, the Laws we’d all abide;
Our new-found dear United States, the subject of our pride!
Who better to be President, than the man who rescued us from our plight;
George Washington, our greatest hero, a man of massive might!
.
.
Dear George Washington
Brought freedom to our Country
His legend ne’er dies
