Gift of night walking

Moon and stars guide me,
walking down a gravel road.
Stopping in shadowy copse,
breathing fresh night air.

Milky Way spread across the sky,
path to night visions,
lost in abundance of stars,
mysterious galaxy.

Out in the moonlight,
Sunflowers look freakish,
like monsters on stalks,
casting ghoulish contours.

Nighttime soothes my shattered psyche.
Owls call, creatures move through fields, crows caw, frogs sing;
natural rhythm of night.
Harmony.
