Girl Grappler

Girl Grappler

(circa 2001)

“You are ugly”
said the high school boy to a girl
in the NYC School hallway by room 325.
He taunted her,
gave her a push and
began to box slap her.

The young lady
gets into boxing pose and
starts prancing like Sugar Ray Leonard.

She throws a left jab to his stomach,
The boy buckling over from the blow,
and she catches him in the chin
with a right hook.

The young man goes down,
never realizing the young women
went to the gym
every day
to train as a boxer.

He transfers to another school.
bullies do not like
to be mocked
and made fun of,
especially when the bully is
whooped by a girl.

There is justice in the world sometimes.
