GIRL QUESTION

You used to come to me for advice...
You would ask me how did I know so much?
You were my mother and I was your daughter...
You always thought of me as the strong one...
You often asked me if I learned it on the streets?
You would say it as though they held some power or influence that fed my brain...
The streets had become my safe place I will admit...
Though I didn't sleep on them...
The nearby park was my place for that if I got a little sleepy...
Where the soft grass would be my sanctuary...
Nearby voices would soon sound further away...
No one was ever concerned...
People just walked by with a smile and a wave...
I knew it was coming time that you would be expecting me...
Sometimes, a quick hello did the trick...
You knew I would be back by the curfew...
We would talk for twenty minutes or so...
Then we would go to our rooms...
There were those times that I had questions and you weren't sure of the best way to answer or you were in shock that I asked...
I didn't mean to make you feel like climbing under a table...
Though you didn't say it out loud...
I could see it in your eyes...
Then your cheeks would get a little red and sometimes you would begin to choke...
I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable I just had some girl questions...
Sometimes, it would have been nice not to have to find things out on my own or in a surprise form...
We got through it...
When I became a woman...
You asked me questions...
There were things that if you didn't know by now...
You probably didn't need to know...
It was my turn to crawl under the table...
I learned it from you...
My girl knows more than I did...
Now, there is no one under the table...
You were there and now you're not here anymore...
I have a question...
Maybe, this one you could answer...
I need to find the answer in case I get asked a girl question...
Hugs...

Hello Richard...
So many things people didn't talk about in those days...
Almost as if you don't talk about it it doesn't exist...
There was no warning...
Noone ever gave me advice as to what to do other than the common of being good...
No one said if there's a problem talk to me...
There were a lot of don't without reasons why...
Some don'ts ended in threats...
So you know...
Don't!
My mother raised two boys before I came in on the train surprise...
Times were different as it goes...
I don't know the advice her mother gave her...
My mother worked hard, she didn't know the world as it turns...
If she were alive today...
She wouldn't believe her eyes...
Thank you for your comment...
Thank you for being there...
Hug. :)
