Give Me Three Steps Ode To Ronnie Van Zant

Give Me Three Steps Ode To Ronnie Van Zant

I remember
being in my
early 20's
in a bar
a young
soldier
getting
my drink
on
Started
to dance
with a
young
sweet
thing
not
realizing
her
BF
was
a burly
Cowboy
who was
not
amused
at
the
attention
I was
giving
his
" Linda Lou"

Though
I was
currently
lit
from
the JD's
I had been
nursing
the verse
that you
melted
in my
ear growing
up
came
across
my
mind
and it
went like

this "Oh, wait a minute, mister
I didn't even kiss her
Don't want no trouble with you
And I know you don't owe me
But I wish you'd let me
Ask one favor from you"
"Oh, won't you
Gimme three steps, gimme three steps, mister
Gimme three steps toward the door?
Gimme three steps, gimme three steps, mister
And you'll never see me no more"
For, sure

Thank You
Ronnie
you saved my life
and be
rest assured
out
the
door
I
went......................
