Glass

The world is glass just like me
I want to tiptoe around
No cracks
No breaks
Try to plant my feet on the groundÂ
But how when I slip and it slides
And falls and crumblesÂ
Right out from under me
See-through bones and branchesÂ
Fragile and fracturedÂ
Shimmering and shining and beautiful
Invisible wounds with invisible pain
A chip in the loveliness can be overlooked
Just a piece out of placeÂ
Somewhere it shouldn't be
But sometimes it shattersÂ
I look down and see shards
That can't and won't be put back togetherÂ
Broken glass
Broken me
The world is glass just like meÂ

Sad, despondent writing, Julia. A melancholic musing for sure.
We are a fragile species, this thing called human beings.
Our psyches are so easily bruised and damaged.
However, what doesn't kill us only serves to make us stronger in the end.
Nicely penned.
