~ GLEANING TRUTH ~

It is I, with my source-less laments
Codifying, with ambiguous intent
Attempting to find beauty, in uncommon ground
With a muddled mind, wrecked, and earthbound...
Why can I not touch, the varied faces of God
Bring its light perspective, without running roughshod
Or tear away stage curtains, go straight to plays end
Dance gloriously with feelings of love, forever unbent...
Yes, it is I, surfing waves with fortune's fragrance
Without olfactory make up, but applying common sense
Can I glean any truth, without time passing
Perhaps a portal from god, that shines, laughing...
With wire, and light-filled automatons
We see the beauty, but miss the phenomenon
I've searched my heart, to find my forgotten intents
But, (so it is said)
The sun rises, the sun sets,
And yet,
Everyone forgets...

a teacher of Einstein once said of him, he has an "addled brain" I think Einstein was doing pretty good! but Heavenly Father says " our ways are not His ways" I think we all are plodding along as best we can with what we are given, and it means more than we realize. nice thought provoking write as usual Tony! ...................................Jim
Amen to that dear brother JIM!!......I like the last of your thought ~ "It means more than we realize...".....your faith is showing!!!.......smiles!......Thanx bro!!........T xo ; )
Definitely thought provoking...i.agree with Jim. I'm on the same trip Tony...searching the ethers. Beautifully written as usual and pinned 🧡
Yay!! ~ thanx so much Miss MARION!!.....The PIN is a surprise.....I wasn't to happy with this piece.....just thought I'd edit it some time in the future!!.....but you have made me rethink that notion!!......smiles.....lots of love to you my friend!!........Peace.......T xo : )
Hello Tony, this is a deep and thought provoking piece. To have some tangible evidence would bring relief in so many ways. I think many of us feel we have lost a sense of self, especially of late. You took the reader on a journey that leaves them questioning their own existence. A first class write ✨👏
Hey GWENDOLINE!!.....this is such an elegant comment and I agree with you......to have some form of tangible evidence would be ideal......but of course ~ blah, blah, blah.......I mean does any ONE opinion really outshine any other anymore?......I think the human journey through life is 'in and of itself' ~ divine.... in some unfathomable way!!....still working that out!!.....Thank you for being you my friend!!.......I'll be sending you a PM a little later!!.......smiles.......T xo : )
Inspiration Tony, that is what we all seek be it in ourselves or sought through others and we all find it someday, how much and for how long it'll last, is hard to say.
Great thoughts through great writing you have generously offered and notice and really take in your end lines and this is the first draft, meaning good sir more quality destined to arrive.
You write so well Tony and never obliquely, just pure poetic class.
And for that my friend I thank you.
I wish you well Tony and for me this is already flawless.
But, (so it is said)
The sun rises, the sun sets,
And yet,
Everyone forgets...
OMG I love this Tony you are truly summit else on Cosmo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💙❤️💙
My Dearest JILL,
You are the only one to point out these lines......my favorite......and in my opinion, the MOST profound and telling lines from this poem......they are, without a doubt.....lines that could (LITERALLY) stand alone......without being a small portion of another poem....they are ~ three, of my favorite lines I have EVER written......I am still, to this day, not even sure if they are my lines at all.....I remember writing them when I was at the John F. Kennedy Center working a "Tour Memorial" shift as a teenager......I had been reading a lot of philosophy and when I wrote it I remember thinking ~ that I wondered if it was something inspired by someone else literally....but when i went back to try to find out if I may be plagiarizing it I remember thinking that I was being silly.....and that I was being self-effacing and that my sense of pure aplomb was severely lacking and purely weakened by stupidity....anyway ~ to this day I feel silly when it comes to those 3 lines.....I believe them to be the best 10 words I have ever strung together......and yet I still dream (from time to time) that they are not my own......anyway....I'm so sorry to lay this all in your lap!!.......Please...if you have any opinions here....speak now and/or forever hold your peace!!.....stay groovy girlfriend!!.......T xo ; )
Awwwww though what can possibly add to that kind sir Tony... truly beautifully penned my poetic friend ❤️💙❤️
Hello Tony! Hope you are well, I'm trying my best to catch up but I am missing so much on here at the moment. There isn't enough time in the day, things are busy but good.
Anyways, this was such a great poem and a pleasure to read, where I can see multiple interpretations. I feel everyone questions faith at one point or another and religious or not, we all have moments of doubts and really just plead for answers getting lost on the way. Forgetting what we already know inside ☀❤. This was brilliant to read, I will enjoy again and again ☀
Hi Tony. Wow I love this philosophical questioning faith piece. Like the other comments it has multiple interpretations but I know from our past discussion you are looking at the existence, soul, life and energy. I love the last lines too as Jill pointed out. What a fab ending. Just an awesome write. Power in spirituality and the being!! Px
Hi Tony,
Your poem brings spirituality
and intense thoughts.
Love,
ANNE REEVES.
