~The God Who Was~

~The God Who Was~

He once raised the heavens, then left to judge his fate,
"Never again should you be here" yelled the good,
As he flaired his horns, and crashed through the gate;

Deep inside the earth, where rivers of lava run thick,
Thinking to himself, "He knows why he fell";
He then came to rest in an endless inferno,
This unholy saint is starting a new form of heaven
that would soon be "Hell";

Once the mighty soul in a land that strayed,
The gold, the wine, the cotton clouds of fuzz;
Waking from his dream in a cold bitter sweat,
He said with a grin,
"It's true, I am the God who was".
