Poem -

Golden Days

The warm sun kissed the air
With a golden light
Reflected off of water
That stood still and crystalline
Like a lake of amber
Shining in the afternoon
When storm clouds loved to gather
They would send a rain
That sent all to scatter
Home to get a hardy meal
Finish the day in a loving hug
By the ones who cared
Each memory is a treasure
One that cannot be replaced
No matter what one wishes
Time cannot be undone

I find as I get older that memories become very important...
As loved ones pass on or friends marry and leave.
It is all about the moments we shared.

"Each memory is a treasure" -- I pick the same line as Jim before seeing his comments above -- This shows great minds are like ha ha

The fish of the sea

Wow! What imagery. The structure and feeling of this write reminds me that poems dont need to be extremely long and detailed to be extremely engaging. Well executed. Wishing you all the best. Happy holidays. The Fish of the Sea

Being Me

What starts off as a nice little poem goes on to spill beautiful images from words and just as the reader thinks "hmmm that's nice" that last line hits home like a well targeted sledgehammer. A powerful line indeed!

Time cannot be undone

Brutal...but oh so very, very true.
