GOLDILOCKS MOMENT OF A POET

GOLDILOCKS MOMENT OF A POET

Her life in quandaryΒ
haunted by the
miasma of frustration-
an endless walk
living a life
sans pause or cause.

Like a heleniumΒ
that has been
out all season
lulled for a while
may blossom late
but blossoms best.

A sexagenarian fecund poetΒ
who scribbles anythingΒ
on a blank note
and drains cumbrousΒ
verbiage like a kitchen sieve
till something hums and rhymes-
then fashions her world
through words-
the labour coming to fruition.
- a goldilocks moment-

Hi Sparrowsong, thank you for taking time to read this one.
That was last year's February poetry contest. My second nomination, "Making Rainbow " based on my life story.

Hi Leah, you have seamlessly interwoven the most intricate and rich language in this piece, making it such a delight to read- it was such a breath of fresh air stumbling across this poem. The content and subject matter are very relatable- I only have high praise for you in your crafting. Very intelligent and alluring.Β

Dear Leah,

Like you, our fruitful sexagenarian
This septuagenarian too blossomed late
And also scribbles inspirations
Till he feels his thoughts are great

.
Then we put our labours down on paper
And proffer them for the World to see
These two battlescarred Ancient Mariners
Leah Cabael Yodico, the other one being me

Love,
