Gunshot

The smell of rotting flesh
lingered in the air
Flies and buzzards circled
the blood stained footpath
The unmistakable outline
A body visible
A mother weeping and howling
blue and red flashes
Glistened and reflected
Off the blood stained
A life taken far to young
killed by the bullet of a gun
