Good Morning Happy Easter!

It was Easter Sunday morning, the year was 1989.
Everyone was dressed up, Easter clothing looking so fine.
Kiesha Nicole Preston, stood tall and proud and bold.
So confident and poised, for one only 2 and 1/2 years old.
In her ruffled lace dress, she walked to the front of the stage.
On the church pulpit, all eyes on her were engaged.
Her line had been practiced often, she knew it very well.
Good morning happy Easter, was her story to tell.
She turned and twisted, she smiled and waved.
But her one line resertation, my daughter never gave.
The program director walked out, and announced with a grin,
She's refused to say Good Morning Happy Easter, Miss Kiesha Preston.
As we drove home in the car, and all through the rest of the day.
Probably 20 to 30 times, my little girl did say.
Over and over the sentence, she should have said on cue.
Good Morning Happy Easter, I could not believe this to be true.
God morning Happy Easter, time and time again she spoke.
Good morning Happy Easter, I asked God if this were a joke?
Decades later now each Easter morn, we call our daughter to say.
The four words she refused to speak, in 1989 on Easter Sunday,
Good morning Happy Easter,
Good morning Happy Easter!
Good morning Happy Easter,
Good morning Happy Easter..........
