Poem -

Goodbye

The sun had not yet peekedΒ  its face through the bedroom window
When you had already gone.
No kiss, nor goodbye.
If I’m being honest, I can’t say that it hurts not to hear your voice,
Or feel your lips against my forehead, if not my lips.
What truly hurts, is knowing that I don’t feel bad... or sad.
Therefore, I’m left with an emotionless expression on my face when I see my reflection,
Not only in a mirror, but also, in those lifelessΒ  eyes you seem to have, only when they look in my direction.
But I guess in the end, goodbyes only mean something when the person you say it to,
Has been properly introduced.
And you and I, even when our bodies laid on top of each other, never truly met.
