GOODBYE MY LOVE

The tearing of the heart

GOODBYE MY LOVE

FROM THE FIRST TIME I MET YOU
MY HEART FELL PREY,
I KNEW FROM THAT MOMENT
LOVE WAS HERE TO STAY.

I LOVED YOU UNCONDITIONALLY
FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART,
BELIEVING THAT NOTHING,
OR NO ONE, COULD TEAR US APART.

YOU STAYED WITH ME
FOR MANY YEARS,
BUT IT WAS JUST A PHYSICAL PRESENCE,
YOUR HEART OF LOVE HAD DISAPPEARED.

I AM NOT CERTAIN
WHY YOU CHOOSE TO STAY,
SO TODAY,
I AM RELEASING YOU MY LOVE,
TAKE FLIGHT,
AND MAY GOD GUIDE YOU
ALONG THE WAY.

WILFORD BARKER.
