Grand Pa Tucker

Grand Pa Tucker

I think
it was
interwoven

my thoughts
your thoughts

the breath
between our
interactions

I still smell
the air
of Bapson park's
water

the sweet crust
of a
moonpie
on my lips

that you
gave me
to tide me
over

during
those
early
mornings

I still recall
you saying

"greg did you saying something"

a phrase
you often
uttered
to break the
moment
of
silence

a gesture
that
always
made
me feel
loved

Having
known
you
made me
clueless
to what
hate
is

I remember
only
love
acceptance
and
inclusion
manifesting
from
your
presence

gentle companions
that sat with us
while fishing lines
were cast
upon the
water
of Bapson Park
