“Grandmama are you feeling okay?”

She sat on my lap scrutinising me
Within that mysterious look of such a strange curiosity
Mind you my heart wasn’t feeling happy as I sang her a lullaby
And I guess it didn’t disguise the depth of my emotions, with yon teardrop in my eye

“Oh my lovely little Chickadee don’t you worry your Grandmas fine”
Then I took a hold of her tiny hand and I held it in mine
We walked out into my garden and stood by the washing line
And she pointed her index finger up to heavenly skies we watched those twinkling stars shine
“Come on little one it is time for your bed”
My youngest Granddaughter gave a yawn and she cocked her weary head
Her eyes began blinking sleepily and her rosy cheeks were red
So I lay her down very carefully and she snuggled into her big Ted…

Awe there is a cosy feel to this Jill. My son loves his grandma, and I felt that love here. Kids notice more than we realise and you picked up on their perception in this intuitive write. A lovely read :) xx ❤️
