Grey

Grey

I'm grey like the skin
Of a dying man
No colour, just shade
Devoid of emotion I am.
How do I bring myself back
To Technicolor?
When the contrast is broken?
I am doomed
Damned & tortured...

I suffer like no other

I seem fine on the outside
But my smile is fake
I have a false sense of hope
From the substances I take
Counterfeit smiles
When I want to be genuine
I could go many miles...

If only this car had an engine

Nigel Cresswell...

I instantly get Pink Floyd from this;

day after day, love turns grey,
like the skin on a dying man

That said mate, I get the metaphor and this is a brilliantly worded piece. And if that Triumph GT6 doesn't get it's engine back it would be a crime against art.

Hi Nigel, thank you for reading and leaving feed back. I was a huge Pink Floyd fan as a kid and I still am. Those lyrics have probably laid dormant in my mind. I know exactly the song you mention, I must listen to that album again soon.....it's been a long time.

As for the car, it was just a picture picked at random from Google, but I see that you know your cars.

Thanks again. Take care  - Syd

My Dear Syd,

The maudlin moans within my Soul
Only I can hear
For the phony smile upon my face
Is there throughout the yea
r
.
No one knows that I am dying
Nor the pain that I endure
The "Grey" that is inside me
My heart unable be restored

Love you, my friend,
