Grey

Grey visions lurks around me,
Whispering over my burning skin,
Making me shiver.
Aching so much,
It hurts even as my body quivers.

Bloodshot eyes, rimmed in red,
I stare blindly ahead.
All I can see are those beautiful hazel eyes,
And that smiling face--a convincing disguise.

Salty and hot,
These weary tears continue to flow.
Trembling fingers shield my face,
My love for you,
I cannot let it show.

The smoky kisses that once teased my lips,
My heart remembers....
The remnants of my love for you,
Ripped to shreds and unrecognizable.
But this mouth still craves,
Like the dessert rose yearning for the morning dew.

Alone but surrounded by this haze of grief
The splinters of my soul burn...
I lie withered among the embers.
No longer does the smile in my heart shine.
There lies only the stain of grey....
Just like the three demons that encircle me--
Despair, torment and grief.
