Poem -

Ground zero

Seven seconds to go, was the last thing i remember
The earth was going through meltdown, that's when I was knocked to the ground
Waking up in a darkened room, nothing but silence encompassing me
The soaring heat burning my skin, I realise, the fools went through with it

Who made the first move?
Playing chess with our lives
Thoughts going through my head,
can't explain why I'm still alive
Walking outside, the landscape had been flattened
All that's left Is a wasteland of debris and ash smothering life that once was

Armoured plated metal guns, hell bent on total destruction
Fallen silent, from the atrosity that went before
No more heroes fighting for survival,
I am truly alone to languish in solitude until my life Is expunged

War has obliterated our planet, spreading like a disease
All for power and glory, but the infestation known as people has eradicated itself

No more misery

No more human race

No more life

just nothingness
