Is Guilt Remorse?

They feel guilt, and think remorse: I challenge this notion.

Guilt is not remorse; and remorse is not guilt; and yes,

The two have kissed: ideally. She tears in silence, a silent

Hell: such guilt; and so many wishes; but remorse is

Absent. He cries over a lost love: as cursed as earth; and

Lacks the guilt of guile. So many perish guilt, and shun

Remorse; and all the more, they argue fate; and guilt often

Lacks remorse; and remorse often lacks guilt. There’s a

Vibe at work; and many heed the call: alert to conscience.

They speak of value, even ethics; and they perish soft;

And such to fly, a steady flame; and such to thirst a pearly

Gate; and evermore, another wound; and evermore—

Renewed strength; and thus, remorse fashions guilt; and

Thus, guilt fashions remorse; and the soul breathes. Ā Ā Ā Ā
