HALLOWEEN 1

HALLOWEEN 1

I walk thro' white cotton wool and orange pumpkins,
large black hairy spiders is surely where fear begins;
remember the film, Halloween 1, when Michael's car
break lights came on due to a nasty remark being made.

Perhaps that should be mandatory, make people aware,
to have more thought before they forget what's fair,
stopped in their tracks, a subtle correction to God's plan,
because, let's face it - free will was doomed before it began.

The children came, we offered them some nice cakes,
a skeleton snatched a bonbon, didn't put on the brakes,
a brown ghost made a change from white, a treaty bite,
everything hunky dory, nice there were no tricks tonight.

Michael grinned at me as tho' the lottery had been won,
'Just remember, when all this is over, I'm still your son!'
