Hallows Eve

Hallows Eve

She lays in bed and silently sleeps on a dark Halloween night,
Her faithful companion sleeping beside her bathing in crystal moonlight,
The feline awoke with a twitch in his nose, he sensed a presence unknown,
Then he shivered, as if someone had walked over his gravestone.
He awoke his mistress, pawing her cheek, to alert her of their situation,
He knew this wasn’t right and needed to act without hesitation.
She heard a knock on her door and a bellowing voice that said,
β€œYou will be mine by midnight girl, from your fear I will be fed.”
With fear pulsating through her veins, Luna swiftly left her bed,
But couldn’t shake that ghastly voice from running around her head.
β€œYou will be mine by midnight girl, from your fear I will be fed.”
Luna ran and grabbed the salt and drew a circle round,Β
β€œYou cannot get me demon, for I stand within safe ground.”
Then from the dark, that bellowing voice spoke again with slight frustration,
β€œYou cannot remain forever in your solitary isolation.”
β€œThere will be a sleep , of which, you will not wake in time,
And we will stop this yearly dance, then you’ll be truly mine.”
Luna awoke on the kitchen floor still within her salt safe ground,
She realised she had won again, until Halloween comes back around.
