HAMID AND HIS PARENTS

The noise of gunfire when you're only five
Thoughts of survival and staying alive
This town is under siege from a military coup
Five year old Hamid doesn't know what to do

His parents are crying undercover they all go
Will they survive only the Lord God will know
Hamid asks to his parents why should this be
All they ask is to be safe and to be free

Gunfire subsided they've survived this attack
Hamid's parents know the guns will be back
Then the hiding will happen again once more
This can't be right in our world today for sure

You make me reflect on how lucky we are to grow up in a place that doesn’t have all this terror. How some children a born into mans rage. I can’t imagine the fear they feel. But your piece reminds us all that this world still breeds nightmares for some children

a good write
