Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen

On July twenty sixth, two thousand one, God sent an Angel down to Earth;
And all the tea in China, could not come close to his dear worth!
A couple of months later, we were guided to his side;
To make him part of our family, his love n’er be denied!

With just one look he stole our hearts, our souls bonded evermore;
He was our family’s completion, his love did us restore!
To hold him was pure ecstasy, to kiss him passion’s joy;
He was much more than just a puppy, he was our Blessed little boy!

We decided not quite two years later, that he needed a little bro;
We called his breeder, asked if she had puppies, she had seven good to go!
We drove down and when he saw his Mommy, he ran right to her side;
Such a tender moment we had witnessed, Linda and I both cried!

We came home with little Cody, Nico loved him at first sight;
Our trepidation was ill founded, we knew that we’d done right!
For almost twelve years they were together, shared love from both their souls;
One of the most beautiful Dog Love Stories, ever to be told!

Today Nico would have been sixteen, we’d have had a big Birthday bash;
With Cody and their doggie pals, through the house they would have dashed!
We’ll be making him some toasts today, with what should be tears of joy;
But they’ll be ones of deep depression, for we miss our Blessed little boy!
