In the end
it all goes down like this..
Since it was
back in the beginning
when cavemen conceived
this tribal bullshit..
Fast forward to today..
The lines are drawn in concrete
as the wall divides
us and them..
Repubs against Dems..
Black versus white..
Gays and straights..
Those not like us
we ain't never gonna trust..
These differences we fear
easily manipulated into hate..
Go study our sorry history..
The virus of prejudice
coursing through our veins..
Tales of violent ignorance
spinning on a bloody loop
century after century..
Hatred compounded..
So how to defeat
such an undefeated ancient adversary?
Best to start with the basics
and enlist respect
as the first step
toward human reclamation

People are acting as if this is the Time of the Gay and Straights and Blacks and Whites...
In the 80's was the time of HIV and Aids...
Gay people were much more successful than the Straight people...
They were loved...
They were respected...
It was respectively returned...
No one was trying to force anything on anyone...
No one was trying to harm, or indoctrinate children...
People had their beliefs but, being friends really wasn't a crime...
People laughed together, hung out together...
Now, there seems to be much more division than there was...
I don't know if we will find our way back to respect each other unconditionally...
A lot of damage has been done...
If it's broke don't fix it...
It wasn't broken...
They had to break it...
To be able to call us names and all the defamation of Character now?
It makes absolutely no sense...

We must have lived in a different 1980's
Gays back then had to reside in the closet..
They could lose their jobs if they came out..
Gays were treated like lepers because of AIDS
and certain imbeciles said the disease was God's
to rid humanity of these sinners
Believe it or not they could not even marry
whom they loved or adopt kids because
of backward laws
Until very recently they were the most
discriminated group in America..
It looked like America had finally socially evolved
enough to begin treating this group with
respect and as equals, but unfortunately
hypocrites under the guise of religion
began their campaign to demonize
these people as pedophiles, freaks,
and threats to children..
Too bad we can't push prejudice and
hate back in the closet
