Poem -

haunted

I’ve spent my days haunted by the things the world can’t see,
but nobody ever told me the living and breathing could become ghosts
(even when you weren’t dead to me.)
You touched my heart with hands colder
than any poltergeist I’ve come across,
and this body of mine must be rid of your presence.
You do not belong here anymore,
and some of you never did in the first place.
Allow me to clean up the mess
that the desperate girl you all knew made.
No candles,
no crosses,
and nothing to save you.
This is the sage and prayer.
Let this be your exorcism
