Hawaii Volvo
Hawaii Volvo, a phrase
Created in younger days
Why? Who knows,
It sounded good to me
Whenever I'd see
Those rare Volvos driving down the road
Saying it to myself....saying I'll never forget it.
Didn't even watch Hawaii Five O
Just heard of it,
The type of cars not usually seen
At that time you know what I mean.
On the long haul with my truck driving Dad
One of very few routes we ever traveled together,
Hauling Clearly Canadian, racing the looky loos
His cb handle bottle rocket mine scooby doo.
Learning the lingo, asking if he'd honk the air horn
Telling me to watch out for smoky bears
As for lot lizards boy your warned.
Make sure not to hit alligators on the road (blown tires)
Comedians is what they called the roads center dividers.
We'd sing songs like on top of old smoky
Talk all through state lines,
Along the way even till this day
Memories of a younger me keep us connected
Whenever that certain car is close
I say to myself, "Hawaii Volvo."

I like saying volvo lol. I have been saying this for so many years and I figured it deserves a write. Thanks for reading Mark.
This was a blast D!!........I have agree with Cherie!!........allowing the reader to share a piece of you.......through memories painted in a poetic fashion is VERY compelling........makes you want to sit in the Lazy-Boy and fade into Devon-land..........well done brother man!!..........enjoyed this..........smiles.......T xo
Thank you T, figured I pour some of myself into a write that of a good childhood memory out of so few. I actually enjoyed and had a good time writing this. Devon land That's funny but I find that a mysterious place at times full of curve balls I don't even know im bound to throw them. Glad you came with me and pop on the long haul T. Much love and respect for you brother.
