Poem -

Head

Slide out of my hate like old skin shed off
Drop the dark cloak of thoughts that burn
Bury the bones of the people I've been before
I'm not her
I'm not them
Am I anyone anymore
Words that choke like hands around a throat
I push them back
Back
To the black of my mind
A voice that lingers all the time
I dropped the stars and picked up arrows instead
Can you see her?
Do you see what I've become
A godless glory of ghostly imagination
So sew the needles, stitch the thread softly to your eyelids
Know your head and give way instead
To better thoughts unread
